Traveling with pets isn’t just about finding a pet friendly hotel that allows them—it’s about choosing one that welcomes them with open paws.
At PadsPass™, we go beyond the basic booking process. We personally visit, tour, and evaluate pet-friendly properties to help our VIPP (Very Important Pet + Person) clients find accommodations that match their lifestyle, travel style, and their pet’s personality.

What I Look For (So You Don’t Have To) in a pet friendly hotel
When I visit a pet friendly hotel property, I ask the questions and inspect the details that matter most to discerning pet parents:
Are pets genuinely welcome, or just tolerated?
Is there easy access to shaded green space?
Do restaurants offer pet-inclusive dining or in-room options?
Is the property suitable for pets who are sensitive to noises?
I also talk with hotel staff to get a sense of how they truly feel about pets on property. During my visits this month, I was excited to hear that most of the properties are expanding cat amenities and updating their pet policies to better accommodate modern travelers and their companions.
Local Insights: Best Times to Visit Vancouver & Whistler with Pets
The best time to travel with your pet in this region depends on your preferences and flexibility. Here's what I recommend:
Mid-March to mid-May and mid-September to late October: Ideal shoulder seasons with mild weather, fewer crowds, and better availability.
Winter travel: Great for pets that prefer colder weather adventures in the snow during the day and staying cozy by a fireplace in the evenings.
🔔 Important tip: Most hotels in this region do not allow pets to be left unattended in rooms. If you're heading out without your pet, let the hotel concierge know so they can help arrange pet-sitting or dog walking services ahead of time.
VIPP Perks When You Book With PadsPass
As a certified travel advisor, I’m proud to offer exclusive perks at these properties for PadsPass VIPP clients:
USD $100 hotel credit, often usable on dining (including pet-friendly room service)
Early check-in and late check-out, when available
Room upgrades at check-in, when available
Personalized property matchmaking, based on your needs and your pet’s personality
Why You Need to Plan Ahead (Especially for 2026)
As a resident of this region, I can confidently say: Planning ahead for 2026 travel is crucial.
With FIFA World Cup matches happening across North America, major travel hubs like Vancouver will see record-high demand. Combine that with Alaska cruise season and you’ll find limited pet friendly hotel availability and steep pricing unless you book early.
The same goes for high-season summer travel anywhere in North America during the World Cup window. If you’re dreaming of a summer 2026 escape with your pet, now is the time to get planning.
